Ralf Rangnick plays an important role in the imminent arrival of Erik ten Hag to Manchester United. Fabrizio Romano tells in a video on his YouTube channel that the current interim manager of the English superpower Ten Hag has a very high opinion. At the same time, the transfer market expert emphasizes that there is as yet no agreement between Manchester United and the current Ajax coach.

ESPN reported on Wednesday evening that Manchester United and Ten Hag had almost agreed on a multi-year contract. Various other media – including the General Newspaper – are even more cautious: despite positive talks, there is still no agreement for the time being. According to the newspaper, Ten Hag is in no hurry to say yes, because he wants to focus on the denouement of the season with Ajax.

Romano also states that there is no agreement yet, although the transfer market expert emphasizes that the talks are progressing well and that details have now been reached. For example, the budget and targets for the summer transfer window are discussed. Moreover, the question is how much say Ten Hag will have over this. At Ajax, the coach has a say in the transfers, but the structure at Manchester United is different than in Amsterdam.

Romano says that Ralf Rangnick plays a key role in the appointment of Ten Hag. “The fact that Manchester United want to have Ten Hag is thanks to Rangnick. He has Ten Hag very highly and is convinced that he is the right man for Manchester United. Rangnick has approved Ten Hag as a candidate,” said Romano. Rangnick has taken over from the fired Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as interim manager and will remain attached to Manchester United as an adviser after this season.
