Bizarre scenes on Monday evening in the Spanish LaLiga during the match between Osasuna and Valencia. The visitors led 0-1 for a long time, but still seemed to have to share the points after a penalty in the last minute, which was shot in unprecedented miserably.

Valencia took the lead after just 18 minutes. André Almeida received the ball on the right side of the penalty area and then scored hard and low: 0-1.

After Valencia's goal, Osasuna had plenty of chances to equalize, but the biggest one came in injury time in the second half. Ante Budimir was hit by an opponent with a cross from the side and went to the grass.

While the referee initially did not want to give a penalty, he was called to the screen a little later by the VAR. After viewing the images, the ball still hit the spot.

Budimir then stood behind the ball himself. The Croat was able to score his seventeenth goal of the season, but failed miserably. The striker first took a step, but saw that the keeper was not choosing a side.

Eventually the ball came very close, so he scooped it very gently into the goalkeeper's hands. Budimir was then able to sink through the ground.

Osasuna are currently eleventh in LaLiga and do not have to worry about relegation despite Monday evening's loss. Due to the defeat, sixth place, which entitles them to European football, has also disappeared far from view.
