Latest update:

The terrorist group Islamic State (IS) is targeting this week's Champions League matches, according to an IS post on social media. Spanish media tackled the increasing terrorist threat on Tuesday morning.

In the last weekend of March, the German authorities were also on alert ahead of the match between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund (0-2). Extra police were then deployed because the police had received a tip that IS was targeting supporters present.

The match in Munich went off without any problems, but now the authorities in England, France and Spain must also be on their guard. The IS places a photo on social media with the names of the stadiums where the games will be played this week. The record is accompanied by the text: 'Kill Them All'.

According to Marca Spanish authorities are always vigilant for attacks surrounding football matches, but this week's matches are now classified as an extra high-risk match.

A government delegation will meet in Spain on Tuesday morning for a crisis meeting. It will then be discussed whether additional measures will be taken. For the time being, the matches will continue as usual.

On Tuesday evening, Arsenal will play Bayern Munich at home and the cracker of the quarter-finals is also on the program: title favorites Real Madrid and Manchester City will face each other in Madrid.

The first match between Paris Saint-Germain and FC Barcelona will be played in Paris on Wednesday. At the same time, Atlético Madrid will take on Borussia Dortmund at the Wanda Metropolitano.
