Andy van der Meijde is happy that Mohammed Ihattaren has accepted the initiative of Wesley Sneijder to help him. On Monday evening, the record international of the Dutch revealed, among other things, that he will go to Turin to accompany Ihattaren when he returns to Juventus. “Ihattaren just has to start training, go home, sleep and train again,” says Van der Meijde.

“I think that’s a very good thing,” says Van der Meijde opposite Football zone, when he is asked about the news that Sneijder will accompany Ihattaren. “I think Wesley can do that well. He is a leader and I think it is very important for Ihattaren that he is accompanied by someone who has played at the highest level and has won something in his career. Ihattaren has a lot of qualities that everyone can enjoy.” Van der Meijde has tried in vain to contact Ihattaren several times in the past. “I’m just a person who tries to help people, if they don’t want to, that’s fine too. That doesn’t bother me. I just think it’s great that he takes his last chance with Wesley Sneijder, because this really is.”

‘s analyst Veronica Inside is convinced that Sneijder can help the attacking midfielder. “I think Wesley can reach him, yes,” says Van der Meijde. “I hope for Ihattaren that he can focus on football. He’s just a really good boy with a good heart. He just needs to train, go home, sleep, train, etcetera. At some point he will play games. He should not come into contact with anyone, be alone with good people around him, then he will get there.”
