Feyenoord recorded a problem-free 0-4 victory over Heracles Almelo on Sunday. The Rotterdammers created plenty of possibilities. Trainer Arne Slot was happy with the simple victory, but most enjoyed a brilliant attack that did not result in a goal.

“I won't soon forget minute 53,” Slot says with a broad smile to reporter Teun de Boer from ESPN. “We had an attack then, you should really see that again. You will undoubtedly see that again, but it is a great pity that no goal was scored.”

After prolonged possession of the ball, Mats Wieffer played Calvin Stengs with a tight ball between the lines. Feyenoord's number 10 cut back and then released Luka Ivanusec with a nice through ball over the Heracles defense.

However, the Croat hit the ball face to face with goalkeeper Michael Brouwer completely wrong, meaning Stengs could not add an assist.

Slot saw that Feyenoord hardly encountered any problems against Heracles on Sunday. “In terms of results, we certainly needed this, but otherwise I saw a lot of what I have seen before.”

“The attacks you saw today can be compared one-to-one to the attacks we delivered against Celtic. Only, perhaps that is also due to the resistance, we were now able to convert it into goals.”

According to Slot, the best Feyenoord goal of the afternoon was Stengs' 0-2. “That was a real Feyenoord attack, so to speak. Quilindschy Hartman provided the overlap, received the ball from Ivanusec and was able to pass straight to Stengs.”
