If it’s up to Valentijn Driessen, the Today Inside program will soon be back on the tube. The football chief of De Telegraaf, himself a regular guest in the program, was quite disturbed by the way in which several channels dropped Johan Derksen. “The loyalty of some people disappointed me very much, very weak,” Driessen said in the item Coffee with Valentine

“A mortal sin”, is the judgment of the chief football cum columnist. “I hope it comes back. It’s really nice to do it, to sit there and talk about football.” According to Driessen, the program also helps him to get more done in his other work. “People are also willing to say something to you, so it’s good for you too.” When asked about Derksen’s future, Driessen is clear. “I can’t imagine Johan not going to do something, because it can’t be that you come down every day and then arrive in your living room and have no purpose in your life? While for him there were thirty hours in a day.”

During the infamous ‘Derksen riot’, many channels dropped the former editor-in-chief of Voetbal International. “I thought that was very weak,” says Driessen. “The loyalty of some channels really disappointed me. If you make great radio programs for everyone and everything for ten years. I heard that he had the most listened-to radio program of the week on Radio Rijnmond. And then that loyalty to the day. I think it’s good that he can still be heard on RTV Drenthe and Arrow Bluesbox Radio. Arrow Bluesbox Radio has always been behind him I think. He is back at Radio Drenthe.”

“It doesn’t make much sense at the moment to react in emotions,” said presenter Wilfred Genee of Today Inside earlier on the incident in his radio program. The Friday Move on BNR† “Then I think it would be wiser to take a step back. If you start shouting all kinds of things out of emotions, it all becomes much more difficult.” René van der Gijp showed up The Telegraph know that he will not see the program return. “We are convinced that we will not return to TV in this form. It’s the same every time. Some kind of bomb is dropped, everyone is all over the place and two days later it’s: what are we talking about anyway?”
