Kenneth Perez does not think that Yorbe Vertessen can count on many playing minutes at PSV this season. The analyst thinks the Belgian is the weakest in the Eindhoven attack and states that he falls just short of the desired level. Jan Joost van Gangelen, Perez’s tablemate This was the Weekend, suggests a transfer to the sub-top. “I would have thought it would be something for FC Twente.”

Vertessen is discussed in an analysis of the PSV bench. The table concludes that there are luxury problems in Eindhoven. “If you consider what was on the bench against NEC…” Roy Makaay begins. “Lozano was on the bench, Til was on the bench, Teze was on the bench, Tillman was on the bench…” Van Gangelen adds Vertessen’s name. “I don’t think he’s happy,” says the presenter.

Perez joins in. “With Vertessen you wonder: ‘How good is he actually?'” We are talking about the PSV level here. Vertessen is now just short of that,” concludes the Dane. Makaay counters: “In the matches in which he had to replace Lang, he did well.” Perez: “Certainly. But it is doubtful whether he will make PSV better in the long term. Although he is a good substitute.”

Vertessen has played eight official matches so far this season, scoring twice. In two of those matches, against Sturm Graz and Vitesse (both 1-3 wins), the right leg kicked off. In both cases, however, Noa Lang was absent with an injury. Vertessen could opt for a (temporary) departure this summer, but decided to remain loyal to PSV. FC Midtjylland, among others, reportedly showed extensive interest.
