Paul Pogba will again be sidelined for at least a few weeks due to a new hamstring injury. The Juventus midfielder, who has been haunted by physical discomfort all season, was injured again in training on Sunday morning. “He will certainly not play this week, so we will only see him again after the international period,” said Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri.

Pogba only played for Juventus for the first time this season due to a lingering knee injury on February 28. The midfielder played against Torino (4-2 win) for half an hour and then got fifteen minutes of playing time against AS Roma (1-0 loss). Pogba was then disciplinary suspended and therefore missed the Europa League match against SC Freiburg (1-0 win). Last Sunday against Sampdoria (4-2 win) new playing minutes beckoned, until a preliminary training went wrong. “Paul felt something in his hamstring while taking some free kicks and immediately stopped,” Allegri explains.

Pogba’s disappointment about his new injury is great, the Frenchman showed on Monday when he left the Juventus medical center. Dozens of supporters hoped for an autograph or photo at the exit, but Pogba immediately got into a waiting car. “I’m sorry, but my head is not in it at the moment,” Pogba said in apology.

Pogba returned to Juventus last summer, who brought him back from Manchester United on a free transfer. In preparation for the current season, the midfielder suffered a serious knee injury, for which he underwent surgery. It took Pogba seven months to make his comeback for Juventus, but so far he has only made two appearances.
