Borussia Dortmund booked a spectacular victory in the Bundesliga on Sunday afternoon. Coach Edin Terzic’s team gave away a lead against FC Augsburg three times, but eventually emerged victorious: 4-3. Giovanni Reyna beautifully made the winning goal on a pass from Jude Bellingham. The highlight of the game, however, was the long-awaited debut of Sébastien Haller.
BVB managed to break the spell after half an hour via Bellingham. The midfielder was the end station of a nice combination and was able to finish successfully from the edge of the sixteen-meter area with a dry bang. The game then burned loose just before half-time, when Arne Maier brought the score back into balance with the outside of his foot. Nico Schlotterbeck, however, headed the 2-1 against the ropes not much later from a free kick by Julian Brandt. Both teams went to the dressing rooms with a tie after Ermedin Demirovic remained cool face to face with goalkeeper Gregor Kobel.

The spectators were also treated to the necessary goals in the second act. First followed the official debut of Haller, who came on for Youssoufa Moukoko after 62 minutes to great applause from the home crowd. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens thought to close the game fifteen minutes before the end with a placed shot in the long corner. However, Augsburg managed to straighten their backs again within two minutes. David Colina reacted most alertly after Kelvin Yeboah initially hit the post. Thanks to Reyna, the visitors were finally put over the knee. The attacking midfielder scored very nicely from about fifteen meters: 4-3.
