Sébastien Haller finishes the season at Borussia Dortmund. The Ivorian had the option of moving to Fulham on loan, but he decided against it The Athletic no appetite.

Fulham arrived at Signal Iduna Park on Wednesday to express their interest in Haller. Dortmund was open to a temporary departure for the attacker and gave the Londoners permission to enter into discussions with him.

If the green light is given, talks between the parties would continue, but Haller has announced that he sees no point in a temporary switch to the Premier League.

Haller is currently playing with the Ivory Coast national team at the African Cup of Nations in his own country the Elephants will face Mali in the quarter-finals on Saturday. Since his focus is now fully on that and the transfer market closes on Thursday, Haller rejected English interest.

The fact that Dortmund gave Fulham permission to talk to Haller is no surprise given the form of the former Ajax striker. He failed to score in the eleven Bundesliga games he played this season. He scored his only two goals this season in the DFB-Pokal.

Thus, Haller misses the opportunity to return to the Premier League. In 2019, he moved from Eintracht Frankfurt to West Ham United for no less than fifty million euros. Haller managed to impress at times in London, before leaving for Ajax in January 2021.

In Amsterdam, the striker was a permanent member of then-coach Erik ten Hag's team. Haller scored a total of eleven times in the Champions League in the 2021/22 season. With that achievement he became the first Ajax player with at least ten goals in a single Champions League season. In the summer of 2022, he left for Dortmund for 31 million euros, for which he has scored 11 times and provided 5 assists in 36 matches to date.
