FC Groningen can soon expect a bid for Luciano Valente. That knows Football International, based on Italian sources. The 19-year-old attacking midfielder has found himself in the spotlight of several Serie A clubs and at least one of them is planning to take action. Lazio, Atalanta and Torino, among others, are among those interested.

Valente is having his breakthrough in the Euroborg this season. The Groningen native with Italian roots made his debut in round two against Ajax and has since been allowed to appear eighteen times by Frank Wormuth and successor Dennis van der Ree. After two months, Valente was already fighting in the starting line-up before an ankle injury in January temporarily halted his development. Now that the teenager is fit again, he can put himself in the spotlight for a possible transfer.

Various clubs at home and abroad are angling for Valentes services. Atalanta, Bologna, Lazio, Salernitana, Sassuolo and Torino have had the youngster on scouting lists for a long time and, according to Italian sources, Groningen can expect a first offer soon.
