Hakim Ziyech has his Sunday moment of shine caught at Chelsea. The attacking midfielder played a more than excellent match against Tottenham Hotspur and crowned it with an absolute world goal. The Blues then took the victory with a header from Thiago Silva: 2-0. Chelsea remain third, keeping a huge gap on pursuers Manchester United, while Tottenham are left behind in seventh place.

Ziyech showed himself from the start signal, initially mainly as a declarant. The former Ajax player sent a wonderful cross to Callum Hudson-Odoi in the fourth minute, who headed wide at the far post. Shortly afterwards, Ziyech fired on the goal himself from sixteen yards, after which Hugo Lloris knocked the ball away. Steven Bergwijn intercepted the ball in midfield and then saw Harry Kane work in Ryan Sessegnon’s cross. However, the Tottenham striker had pushed Thiago Silva just before his appointment and saw his goal disallowed.

Chelsea made the difference shortly after the break. Ziyech received the ball on the edge of the penalty area in the 48th minute and curled it unparalleled from there into the far corner: 1-0. A minute later, the attacking midfielder had another shooting opportunity in exactly the same spot, but this time shot hard at Lloris. Chelsea doubled their lead in the 55th minute, when Thiago Silva headed in the crowd from a free kick by Mason Mount: 2-0. Tottenham were powerless to come back from that. Bergwijn tried again, while Kane saw a dangerous header get caught by Kepa.
