Mason Greenwood remains in police custody, British media report. The Manchester United attacker is suspected of assault and rape of his girlfriend Harriet Robson, it came out on Sunday morning. Greenwood will continue to be questioned by the English police today. Until then, he will remain in prison. Greenwood was already removed from the selection by United on Sunday. He is not training and playing for the time being.

The Sun writes that on Sunday afternoon, investigators from the Greater Manchester Police Department were spotted at the attacker’s home. Security personnel, believed to be engaged by United, confirmed that Greenwood’s parents were in the home at the time. The attacker was taken to the police station for questioning and is being held there for the time being. A new hearing is scheduled for Monday. According to Robson’s father, his daughter had no intention of accusing Greenwood of domestic violence.

The news came to light when Robson released images and audio clips on her Instagram account on Sunday morning that pointed to domestic violence. The images show how Robson has suffered a wound in her face. She also showed some bruises on her body and shared an audio clip on which she could be heard together with Greenwood. The attacker threatened to rape her. The images have since been removed from the account. Greenwood is suspected of assault and rape.

Alan Robson suggests that Harriet did not write the lyrics himself. He did not know that the messages would appear on his daughter’s account. Alan Robson is deeply saddened by the suffering inflicted on his daughter. He responded to the Daily Mail, which appears to have removed the quotes from the website, however. It is unclear whether that means the father has retracted his statement. “We heard about it this morning around 6 am. It’s terrible. I’m still processing it all. As a father, you never want to hear that something like this happens to your daughter,” he said.
