National coach Dean Gorré has announced the first selection of Suriname since foreign players can apply for a Surinamese sports passport. As a result, the choice lord, who has extended his contract with the union until mid-2023, has called up many players who have a history in the Eredivisie or Kitchen Champion Division, or still play there.
Shaquille Pinas (ADO The Hague), Ramon Leeuwin (AZ) and Damil Dankerlui (FC Groningen) have received an invitation from the Eredivisie. Roscello Vlijter (Telstar), Ryan Koolwijk (Almere City), Dion Malone (NAC Breda) and Ishan Kort (Almere City) have been invited as players from the Kitchen Champion Division for the matches against the Cayman Islands (March 24) and Aruba (March 28 ).
The Surinamese Football Association has announced that Gorré has extended his contract for two seasons. The trainer hopes to qualify for the 2022 World Cup with his selection. He has been at the helm of the national team since 2018. Since the end of last year, players with Surinamese roots can apply for a sports passport, without having to hand in their Dutch passport.
