Paris Saint-Germain achieved a great victory at Stade Rennes late on Sunday evening. Luis Enrique’s team took a double lead in the first half through goals from Vitinha and Achraf Hakimi. Rennes fought back to 1-2 soon after the break, but a golden touch from Luis Enrique immediately ended the game: Randal Kolo Muani scored with his first ball contact: 1-3. PSG climbs to third place; Rennes is eighth.

PSG regularly struggled to find the net in the opening phase of the season, but managed to score twice in the first half against Rennes. Mbappé was not awarded a penalty in the seventh minute when he went down, but PSG did not need help from the referee to score after half an hour.

Vitinha was played at the edge of the penalty area after a rush from Ousmane Dembélé. The Portuguese briefly put the ball aside, and then shot beautifully into the far cross: 0-1.

Four minutes later it was a piece of cake for Hakimi to make it 0-2. The emerging right back was perfectly served by a cross from the back from seventeen-year-old Warren Zaire-Emery. Hakimi only had to put his head against the ball.

Rennes came out strong after the break. A shot by Lorenz Assignon was saved by Gianluigi Donnarumma, but Amine Gouiri still scored in the 56th minute. The striker headed in from a cross from Ludovic Blas: 1-2.

Luis Enrique made a golden move by immediately introducing Kolo Muani. The striker needed less than a minute to score. The striker was in the right place to run into Hakimi’s low cross: 1-3.

Mbappé was still looking for a goal in the final phase, but Steve Mandanda cleverly put a hand behind the ball after a volley from the star footballer. Rennes hit the post five minutes before the end via a free kick from Benjamin Bourigeaud, which was touched by Bertug Yildirim.
