Renato Sanches’ transfer from Lille OSC to Paris Saint-Germain will finally be completed in the coming days, transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano reported via Twitter. Sanches himself had according to RMC Sports a personal agreement on a long-term contract with the Parisians for months, but Lille did not cooperate. Now Lille still agrees with a transfer fee of only fifteen million euros for the Portuguese.

According to L’Equipe Sanches is already in Paris for the medical examination. Sanches still had a contract in Lille until mid-2023, which means that Les Dogues decided to sell the 24-year-old midfielder anyway. With the said amount for Sanches, PSG is getting a real bargain, since Transfermarkt.com its value is estimated at 28 million euros.

Sanches played an important role during the beautifully won championship of Lille in 2021. The Portuguese was an indispensable pivot in the team of then coach Christophe Galtier. Galtier was appointed as the new PSG head coach in early July. As a result, the link between Sanches and the European superpower has been increasingly established in recent months. With the arrival of Sanches, PSG is already preparing for the departure of Georginio Wijnaldum to AS Roma.

Sanches has been under contract with Lille since 2019 and came over from Bayern Munich. The French sub-topper paid twenty million for the Portuguese. Sanches played official games for Lille in the last 90’s, scoring 6 goals and providing 10 assists. The fierce midfielder has made a full comeback in Ligue 1 after some tough years in Germany. PSG start the new Ligue 1 season on Saturday with an away game at newly promoted Clermont Foot.
