Galatasaray did what it had to do on Sunday afternoon. For their own audience, the team of trainer Fatih Terim was too strong for Konyaspor with 1-0. Konyaspor immediately put high pressure and tried to make the build-up impossible for Galatasaray. Fernando Muslera, however, found the free man in midfield, after which Mohamed was sent into the depths. Due to miscommunication between Konyaspor goalkeeper Ibrahim Sehic and his rear guard, the Egyptian attacker was able to make the 1-0 with the ball in an empty goal. It was Mohamed’s third league goal this season.
Galatasaray, where Patrick van Aanholt started from the base and remained standing for ninety minutes, did not have an easy time with Konyaspor, which frequently had the ball, especially after the break. Galatasaray can now prepare for the group stage of the Europa League, in which Lokomotiv Moscow is the opponent on Thursday.
