Latest update:

Achraf El Bouchataoui has committed to FC Eindhoven until mid-2025. The 23-year-old controller has already been training with the Brabant club in recent months and signed a contract this week, making him immediately available for use in the Kitchen Champion Division. El Bouchataoui was known as a great talent at Feyenoord in the line of Orkun Kökçü, among others.

Remarkably, El Bouchataoui will play on an amateur basis for Eindhoven until the end of this season, as can be read on the club website. This status will change next season, after which the number ten of the Kitchen Champion Division will have the option to extend the contract for an additional season in the summer of 2025.

Technical manager Marc Scheepers is happy with the deal made. “Achraf has shown us in recent months that he can be a reinforcement for us. He is only 23 years old himself, but already has experience through his time at Feyenoord and RKC in the Eredivisie and at Deinze in Belgium. That is why he can also take our young talents along with him.”

El Bouchataoui himself is also satisfied with the fact that he can get back to work. “I'm very happy that we came out of it. Of course, I have been training with this for a while and see opportunities to be successful with this group of players. I can be there straight away and I'm looking forward to really starting now!”

In the Jan Louwers Stadium the inspector encounters an acquaintance, as Ozan Kökçü is one of the trendsetters at the Blue and White. El Bouchataoui knows Kökçü well, as he played for years with his younger brother Orkun in Feyenoord's youth team. Together with Wouter Burger, the trio formed a feared midfield in the highest youth competitions in the Netherlands.

El Bouchataoui played in Feyenoord's youth academy between 2006 and 2018, where he even made it to the main squad. In 2021, Dick Advocaat gave the former youth international his starting debut during a home game against RKC Waalwijk (3-0 win). In total, El Bouchataoui played five matches in Feyenoord's main squad, in which he was not involved in any goals. In between he played on loan for FC Dordrecht and RKC.

In the summer of 2022, Feyenoord finally said goodbye to El Bouchataoui, who signed with Deinze for several seasons. However, the right foot was not involved at all at the second level in Belgium, so he had his contract terminated after thirteen official games and two assists. After a failed season in the Challenger Pro League, El Bouchataoui hopes to revive his career at Eindhoven.
