Latest update:

Lucas Bergvall will continue his career at FC Barcelona or Borussia Dortmund, transfer market expert Gianluca Di Marzio knows. The seventeen-year-old midfielder, who is known as one of the greatest talents in Sweden, has been linked to both Feyenoord and PSV in the past. According to Di Marzio, the transfer fee could be around 10 to 11 million euros.

In Sweden, Bergvall currently plays for Djurgardens IF, from whom Feyenoord will take over Isak Alemayehu Mulugeta in the short term. The number four of the last Allsvenskan season is in danger of losing an even greater talent from the same age category in Bergvall in the short term.

Coincidentally, Bergvall is no stranger to Feyenoord, which has been linked to the right wing several times in recent years. The Swede even did an internship at Varkenoord in March 2022. In the summer of that year, Feyenoord hoped to sign the young Bergvall (then still a player for Brommapojkarna), when the Rotterdam team was said to have even better credentials than Bayern Munich and Manchester United, among others.

Feyenoord ultimately found the asking price of 900,000 too high, after which Bergvall made the domestic switch to Djurgardens in February 2023. The midfielder made a big impression at his new club. In 29 official matches he scored 3 goals and 1 assist. Transfer market estimates the market value of Bergvall, who recently made his international debut for Sweden, at around 5 million euros.

PSV will also be disappointed with Bergvall's transfer to Barcelona or Dortmund, as the Eindhoven team was still in the stands for the Swede in November. Whether the Brabant leader is actually concrete for Bergvall is unknown.

Bundesliga or LaLiga
This winter, Bergvall can choose between a transfer to Germany or Spain. According to various sources from Sweden, Barça has previously submitted an offer of 4 million euros to the club management of Djurgardens. However, that was not enough to welcome Bergvall.

According to Di Marzio, Barcelona and Dortmund want to strike this month, as Djurgardens' asking price will only increase in the coming years. Italian Udinese was told at the beginning of January that 6 million euros was not enough to sign Bergvall. It is expected that the top European clubs will still meet Djurgardens' asking price towards the end of the transfer period, leaving Bergvall with a difficult choice. Eintracht Frankfurt is also closely monitoring the situation.
