The Public Prosecution Service demands four years in prison against Ferne S., it knows General Newspaper† According to justice, the 36-year-old former left back of Feyenoord has become involved in one of the largest drug cases in recent years. A total of thirteen men are on trial, of which the alleged leaders were heard to demand up to nine years in prison.

According to the Public Prosecution Service, the criminal organization to which S. is linked traded in drugs on a large scale, in particular cocaine, crystal meth and ecstasy. A total of five drug labs spread across the Netherlands are said to have been deployed for the production of the synthetic drugs. They worked together with Mexican ‘cooks’, who were flown in to the Netherlands to lead the production. The organization also had at least six warehouses and laundries were found where cocaine was processed.

The organization is suspected of smuggling 1,200 kilograms of drugs. The police not only found drugs during raids, but also seized 280,000 euros in cash, as well as various cars, a pleasure yacht and a water scooter. According to the judiciary, the role of former Feyenoord player S. is limited. The former football player, who also played for NEC and NAC Breda, would have made his house available for cocaine processing. He would also like to be trained for this by the organization. S. says he is innocent, but refuses to elaborate on the case. He therefore faces four years in prison.

The 36-year-old former professional football player was known as a great talent at Feyenoord in the first years of this century and played for various youth teams of the Dutch. The left back made his debut in De Kuip in 2003, but eventually only made eighteen appearances at Feyenoord. He then played in the Eredivisie with NEC and NAC, where he left with problems both times. Trainers accused him of unprofessional behavior and being overweight. After an unsuccessful foreign adventure at the Hungarian Újpest FC, his career was already over at the age of 27.
