Niklas Sule is in his final months as a Bayern Munich player. According to BILD and GOAL the 26-year-old center defender is ‘ready for a new challenge’, as a result of which he does not want to extend his expiring contract with the superpower. Sule is said to have recently brushed aside a lucrative contract proposal from Bayern, with an increase in his annual salary to ten million euros.

It is not known whether the Bayern leadership will still try to keep Sule for the club. Meanwhile, the German mandekker, with 37 caps to his name, is reportedly looking to continue his career in the Premier League. Chelsea and Newcastle United would follow the situation surrounding the Bayern stopper with great interest, although Sule does not seem to see low-flying Newcastle as a serious option. Sports1 reports that he has also appeared on the list of Barcelona.

President Herbert Hainer emphasized on Sunday that there were still plenty of talks with Sule and his management. “We made Niklas an offer and it is now up to him whether or not to accept it. Of course we want an answer in the foreseeable future, because otherwise we will have to look further. we do reach an agreement or at least hear from Niklas what exactly he wants. Then we will talk further with him,” said Hainer. However, it now appears that Sule is the fourth player to leave Bayern on a free transfer within a year, after David Alaba, Jérôme Boateng and Javi Martínez.

Bayern deposited twenty million euros in 2017 for Süle, who comes from TSG Hoffenheim. The Germany international made 158 appearances in all competitions in almost five years on behalf of of the Rekordmeister. This season the counter stands at 25 appearances in the shirt of Bayern. Süle only missed two games in November due to a corona infection. With the leader in the Bundesliga, the defender won the Champions League, four times the national title, twice the German Cup and four times the Supercup. In addition, the World Cup for club teams was also a prey for Süle.
