Wolverhampton Wanderers will not be able to play the game against Arsenal on Tuesday. The Wolves confirm on Sunday evening via the official club channels that ‘a combination of positive corona tests and injuries’ has led to the postponement of the game. Earlier, the game between Wolverhampton Wanderers and Watford, which was to be played this Sunday, was already cancelled.

Wolverhampton cannot meet the requirement to select 13 outfield players and one goalkeeper, leading the Premier League to agree to a request to finish the game at a time to be determined. The game was to be finished at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday at 1.30 pm. A match scheduled to be played at 6.30pm on Tuesday between Leeds United and Aston Villa has also been moved. Leeds is struggling with the necessary corona infections.

Due to the cancellation of Arsenal – Wolverhampton, the 2021 football year has come to an end for both clubs. The Gunners won 0-5 at Norwich City on Sunday. On New Year’s Day, coming Saturday, Arsenal will play at home against Manchester City. Wolverhampton won’t have another game scheduled until Monday, January 3, against Manchester United. Due to a wave of corona infections in England, eleven matches that were to be played between December 18 and 28 have already been canceled.
