Field stormer Dylano K. will remain in custody for fourteen days longer, it reports Eindhovens Dagblad Monday afternoon. The examining magistrate of the court in Den Bosch has extended his pre-trial detention by two weeks. The twenty-year-old man from Roermond stormed the field on Thursday evening during the Europa League match between PSV and Sevilla and attacked the goalkeeper of the Spaniards, Marko Dmitrovic.

The Public Prosecution Service reported on Friday that Dylano K. had violated an area ban, so that the mayor of Eindhoven also had the option of imposing a reporting obligation on him. The man is suspected of assault and violating this prohibition, so he faces a hefty punishment. On Wednesday, March 8, the case of Dylano K. will be dealt with in summary proceedings.

Sevilla, meanwhile, does not make a declaration and declares that it is ‘a matter of UEFA’. PSV previously went through the dust and thinks the accident does not suit the club. “This is unworthy of PSV and we are deeply ashamed of it,” said the people of Eindhoven through general director Marcel Brands. “We will discuss with the relevant authorities how we can better enforce the stadium bans, hopefully through a reporting obligation.”

The incident may have far-reaching consequences for PSV. A hefty penalty from UEFA hangs over the club. It would then apply to PSV’s next European season, as the club was eliminated from the Europa League last Thursday. A 2-0 win through goals from Luuk de Jong and Fábio Silva was ultimately just not enough to recover the 3-0 defeat from Spain.
