Feyenoord will have to play against Sparta Rotterdam on Sunday evening without Santiago Gimenez, it is reported Rijnmond. The club's top scorer has suffered a minor injury and appears to be able to make it to next Thursday's Europa League match against AS Roma.

Gimenez is the absolute club top scorer at Feyenoord this season with nineteen goals in twenty Eredivisie matches. However, the Mexican has been much less active in recent weeks than in the early stages of the season.

At Feyenoord, Ayase Ueda will normally play as a striker against Sparta. The attacker was active with Japan in the Asian Cup in recent weeks. Ueda scored a total of four goals in the tournament.

In the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup, Iran proved too strong for Ueda's Japan 2-1. Alireza Jahanbakhsh scored the winning goal with a penalty deep in injury time of the second half.

Jahanbakhsh will also be back at Feyenoord on Sunday and could start as a right winger instead of Bart Nieuwkoop, who started there in midweek in the TOTO KNVB Cup against AZ (2-0 win).

The match between Feyenoord and Sparta starts on Sunday at 8:00 PM in De Kuip.
