Lennard Hartjes has played his last game for Feyenoord for the time being. The usually well-entered Feyenoord Youth Watcher reports on Saturday that the nineteen-year-old midfielder will finish the season on a rental basis at Roda JC Kerkrade. Earlier this week it was announced that the Limburgers are seriously in the market for Hartjes, who, despite a contract that runs until mid-2025, does not appear in the plans of trainer Arne Slot for the time being at Feyenoord.

After a few days of negotiations, Feyenoord and Roda JC have reached an agreement regarding the lease. Hartjes will no longer participate in the Under 21 team of the Rotterdam club this Saturday. The young midfielder may make his debut on Friday for Roda JC, which still managed to win 1-0 against Jong Ajax on Friday. FC Den Bosch is then the opponent in the third round of the Kitchen Champion Division.

Hartjes extended his contract with Feyenoord in April until the summer of 2025. In preparation for this season, Slot used him as a substitute in a few friendlies, but the coach thinks it would be better if the midfielder would gain experience elsewhere. Hartjes has so far made two appearances in the main squad of Feyenoord, both last season in the Conference League. His debut in the Eredivisie is still pending.
