Arne Slot also wants to bring Ruben Peeters, Head of Performance at Feyenoord, to Liverpool. It was previously announced that assistant coach Sipke Hulshoff has been nominated to also start working at Anfield. The Telegraph reports on Thursday that Feyenoord is guarding against an exodus, but it appears that Slot is taking 'only' two staff members to England.

The morning newspaper expects that the buyout sum for Slot, who is committed to Feyenoord until mid-2026, will be well above 10 million euros. Liverpool and the 45-year-old success coach from Bergentheim hope for an agreement in the next 48 hours.

Liverpool sees Slot as the ideal successor to Jürgen Klopp, who will leave next summer after nine years. The Dutchman is faced with quite a challenge. “Slot has been informed by Liverpool management about the exodus of technical people and that has everything to do with the fact that the complete Team Klopp resigns.”

While Feyenoord fears a exodus after Slot's departure, the damage seems to be less than expected. “Sipke Hulshoff will definitely go with his head coach. Not John de Wolf, he has just signed a new contract and he also feels happy to stay at Feyenoord alongside the next trainer. Also because Feyenoord expects him to safeguard the culture and make it clear to every newcomer what the club stands for.” Feyenoord will lose another staff member in addition to Slot and Hulshoff.

“Ruben Peeters, Head of Performance at Feyenoord, will probably come to Liverpool. In other cases, Feyenoord will not be flexible, just like with Slot itself, because the club does not want to reorganize a complete organization in addition to a number of players who have to be replaced in major transfers.”

Peeters is a 31-year-old Belgian who has been working at Feyenoord as Head of Performance since 2021. The Rotterdam team took him over from KRC Genk at the time. Feyenoord may already have a suitable replacement in the Australian Leigh Egger (31). He has also been working in Rotterdam South since 2021.

The Telegraph writes further about the salary that Slot expects. “Klopp's salary in his last seasons is astronomical, a total of around 17 million euros, partly thanks to bonuses for top prizes he won with Liverpool. Slot does not have to think about such an amount, because that 17 million euros was not ready when Klopp started.” Journalist Mike Verweij expects Slot to earn around 8 million euros per year, an amount that can increase per season through bonuses.
