Latest update:

It seems that Remko Pasveer will add another year to his career. Football International knows that the forty-year-old goalkeeper is in discussions with Ajax about a contract extension. The medium previously reported that Pasveer, who has an expiring contract, would probably hang up his gloves after this season.

Although Pasveer has had to make do with a supporting role in Amsterdam for some time, the veteran still sees sufficient reasons to open the conversations. Pasveer still feels fit and hopes to contribute to 'the resurrection' of next season as a figurehead of the club.

In addition, the upcoming departure of Gerónimo Rulli could also play a role. VI already reported that the Argentinian, who lost his place to Diant Ramaj, will be granted a transfer next summer.

Both Pasveer and Ajax are interested in a longer stay for the veteran. It is therefore expected that both parties will reach an agreement soon.

Pasveer played his last official game for Ajax in February last year. At that time, the two-time Dutch international had already lost his place to Rulli for a while.

World champion Rulli came to Amsterdam after the World Cup in Qatar, as Pasveer started to show more and more shortcomings. Pasveer experienced his peak in the 2021/22 season.

Under Erik ten Hag, the Enschede native was under the bar when Ajax won the Champions League group stage without losing points. Pasveer made a total of fifty official appearances in Ajax 1.
