Feyenoord has received the first winter acquisition. The club has, according to the Feyenoord Transfermarkt affiliate 1908 reached an agreement with BK Häcken about the arrival of Patrik Wälemark. Club Brugge and Sampdoria would also have bid for the right winger annex attacking midfielder, but see the Rotterdam team run off with the loot.

aftonbaldet reported last Tuesday that Häcken had received bids between 2 and 2.5 million euros. The Swedish club gave everyone zero at the time. Ajax, Atalanta, Sassuolo, Rubin Kazan, FK Rostov and Anderlecht would also have ‘showed interest’ in the recent past, but were not as concrete as the three aforementioned clubs. Because Wälemark had a contract until December 2024, his club only wanted to cooperate with higher bids. Only when amounts ‘between 4 and 5 million euros’ were offered, the number twelve of the Allsvenskan was willing to listen.

Walemark has been playing for Häcken since January 2020, which took him over from Qviding FIF. Since then, he has played fifty games for the current number eleven of the Swedish Allsvenskan, in which he was good for twelve goals and eleven assists. With 9 goals and 7 assists in 29 official games, Walemark has had an excellent season with Häcken who finished twelfth. The contract of the international of Young Sweden ran until the end of 2024.

Earlier Ajax was also in the stands for Wälemark. In addition to the team from Amsterdam, representatives from AS Monaco, Anderlecht, Girodins de Bordeaux, Atalanta, Sassuolo and Sampdoria also traveled to Sweden to see the midfielder at work. “I think Patrik will be motivated by the interest. He is such a type,” says Häcken trainer Per-Mathias Högmo. “It doesn’t make him nervous, but just sharp and motivated.”
