Reaching the semi-finals of the Conference League does not only mean good news for Feyenoord from a sporting point of view. The successful European campaign also provides a substantial financial bonus for the people of Rotterdam. So far, Feyenoord has already collected almost eleven million euros in the Conference League, apart from gate receipts.

Feyenoord started last summer in the second preliminary round of the third European tournament. After dealing with FC Drita, FC Luzern and Elfsborg IF, the Rotterdam team reached the group stage, which resulted in a starting premium of 2.94 million euros. On top of that, there was a coefficient bonus of 1.09 million euros. Feyenoord was able to add 500,000 euros per win (three times) and 166,000 euros per draw (two times) in a group with Slavia Prague, Union Berlin and Maccabi Haifa.

As group winner, Feyenoord not only secured a bonus of 650,000 euros, but also a place in the eighth finals of the Conference League. UEFA paid a premium of 600,000 euros to the last sixteen clubs. Thus, the counter for Feyenoord after the group stage was already at more than 7.5 million euros. Reaching the quarterfinals at the expense of Partizan Belgrade yielded a million euros. With the 1-3 win over Slavia Prague, Feyenoord secured a ticket for the semi-finals and a premium of two million euros on Thursday evening.

This total amount of 10.6 million euros will increase considerably if Feyenoord reaches the final. The losing finalist of the Conference League receives three million euros, while winning the tournament still yields five million euros. Moreover, this amount does not include the income from the market pool taken into account by UEFA, but presumably an additional EUR 500,000 can be credited as a result. The receipts from home games are also not included in this amount.

PSV counter stops at 16 million euros
PSV was eliminated in the Conference League by Leicester City on Thursday evening. The people of Eindhoven started the European campaign in the preliminary round of the Champions League, in which, unlike the Conference League, premiums are already distributed. As the loser of the play-off, an amount of 5 million euros could be credited, which came on top of the premium of 200,000 euros for surviving the two previous rounds.

After the defeat in the diptych with Benfica, PSV was sentenced to play the Europa League, with which it was already assured of 7.19 million euros: a starting premium of 3.63 million euros and a coefficient bonus of 3.56 million euros. With the results in a group with Real Sociedad, AS Monaco and Sturm Graz, 1.68 million euros was earned, while PSV could look forward to 300,000 euros with a place in the intermediate round of the Conference League.

PSV then settled with Maccabi Tel Aviv and FC Copenhagen, securing a total of 1.6 million euros. This puts the total amount from the European campaign at almost sixteen million euros, although this amount does not yet include the income from the campaign market pool (presumably 2.5 million euros) and receipts from home games included.
