Juventus have qualified for the final of the Coppa Italia without much effort. After an earlier 0-1 win over Fiorentina on March 2, Massimiliano Allegri’s team won 2-0 in the return. Federico Bernardeschi opened the score against his former club, then Danilo made it 2-0 in stoppage time. Juventus can extend the cup in the final against Internazionale.

Juventus took the lead after more than half an hour. The attackers combined in the half of Fiorentina, while more players joined from the midfield. It went wrong for Fiorentina after a cross by Álvaro Morata from the left wing. Goalkeeper Bartlomiej Dragowski misjudged the cross completely and went under the ball. Defender Cristiano Biraghi headed the ball away, but in doing so gave Bernardeschi a chance to hit the top left corner in a vicious and successful way: 0-1.

The goal meant that Fiorentina would be assured of the final with two goals: the away goals rule still applies in the Coppa Italia this season. However, opportunities were scarce for both teams. In minute 29, Dusan Vlahovic missed a good opportunity against his old club, but he was also offside. Ten minutes after the break, Vlahovic prepared a chance for Denis Zakaria, but the shot hit the outside of the post. A goal by Adrien Rabiot after a pass from Bernardeschi was disallowed for offside; in the final phase, Matthijs de Ligt shot into the side net.

In stoppage time, Danilo determined the final score by acting as the final station for an attack down the right flank. The preparatory work came from Juan Cuadrado, who cut Lucas Martínez Quarta in the penalty area and sent a clean cross. The final will take place on Wednesday 11 May at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome. The opponent is Internazionale, which was too strong for fellow city rivals AC Milan in two games (0-0 draw and 3-0 win).
