Fenerbahçe has done what it had to do in the Turkish Süper Lig. The team of coach Jorge Jesus needed to win to stay in Galatasaray’s footsteps and succeeded in that mission by beating Kasimpasa 5-1. Big man was Enner Valencia, who managed to find the net no fewer than four times, making him the leader of the top scorers’ standings with nineteen goals. Due to the victory, Fenerbahçe is now four points behind Galatasaray, which also won convincingly on Saturday. Kasimpasa can be found in sixteenth place.

Despite the fact that Fenerbahçe was the better side in the opening phase, Kasimpasa took the lead. After a quick throw-in, the ball ended up with Ahmet Engin, who pulled back well towards the edge of the sixteen-meter area. There Mamadou Fall was ready to shoot in: 0-1. Despite the moderate play at times, Fenerbahçe remained the parent and after a smooth attack, Daniel Graovac committed a foul on Valencia. The Ecuadorian himself got behind the ball and sent goalkeeper Erdem Canpolat to the wrong corner: 1-1. Before the break it was already 2-1. Ferdi Kadioglu, who played an excellent game, handed the ball on a silver platter to Valencia, who found the far corner with a nice shot: 2-1.

The second half was barely seven minutes old when Valencia scored its third goal. A wonderful attempt by top talent Arda Güler hit the crossbar, but in the rebound Valencia managed to work his third goal of the evening against the ropes. Kasimpasa tried, but it didn’t get any further than a few pinpricks. More than twenty minutes before the end, it was again hit for Fenerbahçe. Michy Batshuayi shot against the post after the turn, but in the rebound Valencia managed to score his fourth goal of the match from a difficult angle: 4-1. Batshuayi managed to hit the scoreboard in stoppage time. Ryan Donk, who participated in the entire match, left the field with a painful feeling.
