PSV's championship match against Sparta Rotterdam also means the match between Earnest Stewart and Pelle Clement. The Sparta Rotterdam midfielder has a relationship with the daughter of the PSV technical director and so there is more at stake for the two.

Clement is always assured of a starting place at Sparta and will also start against PSV. So he is one of the players who can ensure that there will be no celebrations in Eindhoven on Sunday.

“It is a bit more lively in my immediate environment than the other competitions,” says Clement in conversation with Football International. “It's a bit busier on the group apps, a lot of card requests, you name it.”

In addition, it is the championship match for PSV. “That combination makes it a special match, yes,” Clement continues. “Who will be cheered for? My girlfriend is for Sparta, it is clear for her. But I think that for the other family members it is a bit more in the middle or just a bit more on the PSV side.”

Pelle Clement is in a relationship with Earnest Stewart's daughter.

Clement has been dating Quinty Stewart, Earnest's daughter, for over three years now. While he barely saw his father-in-law in the early days due to his work in the United States, nowadays there is frequent contact.

“Since he has returned to the Netherlands, we have quickly developed a good bond and click with each other,” says the midfielder. “Our families get along very well with each other anyway. We attach great importance to that.”

Clement says he will do everything he can to spoil PSV's party. “The relationships are clear and with us everyone will have to play at the top of their game to even have a chance, and PSV will also have to have a bad day.”

“PSV will of course ultimately become champions and I wish Earnest that very much. But preferably not on Sunday. We are going in that direction with full conviction and we will fight for a good result.”
