Dusan Vlahovic is making no friends in Florence with his upcoming top transfer to Juventus. The 21-year-old striker is being threatened with death by the hard core of Fiorentina and is currently under police guard, reports La Republica. This follows, among other things, on some banners that were found at the Artemi Franchi, the stadium of Fiorentina. “Dirty dirty gypsy”, among other things, Vlahovic is called.

“Your guards can’t save your life,” reads another banner. “It’s over for you, gypsy.” Police in Florence are taking the threats seriously and are patrolling the area near Vlahovic’s house on Tuesday. The 21-year-old striker is currently finalizing the final details with Juventus about his contract terms, Fabrizio Romano reports. The transfer of Vlahovic will bring Fiorentina around 75 million euros, by far the highest amount in club history. The Serb himself will receive seven million euros net per year.

For Fiorentina’s fanatical following, Vlahovic’s imminent move comes for another slap in the face after Federico Chiesa and Federico Bernardeschi also moved to Turin in recent years. The latter also had to deal with the furious hard core of in 2017 la Viola. “Who wouldn’t want to spit in your face? Bernardeschi, hunchback piece of shit”, a banner read at the time.
