Donny van de Beek has a double feeling about his debut for Manchester United, Saturday night against Crystal Palace. The Dutch midfielder immediately scored as a substitute in his first official match for the English superpower, but was unable to avoid a 1-3 defeat in the end.

“It was my first game for the club and you want to win it, no matter how. I am very disappointed that we lost this match 3-1”, is his first reaction after the match on the website of Manchester United. Van de Beek was brought in halfway through the second half as a replacement for Paul Pogba and scored barely fifteen minutes later inside the sixteen with a shot in the far corner. It meant the connecting goal, but shortly after Wilfried Zaha finally secured the victory for Crystal Palace.

DONNY VAN DE BROEK SCORES ON HIS DEBUT ?????????????????????????????

Van de Beek initially looked forward with confidence to Manchester United’s Season’s Overture in the Premier League. “We trained very well last week. We did the things that had to do well, so I had a very good feeling.” But the former Ajacied also knows immediately what today was lacking with the team of manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. “Today we played too slow. We stayed on the ball too long, while you have to accelerate the game against an opponent like Crystal Palace to create chances. That didn’t go well today.”

“I scored, but we lost, and in the end it’s all about winning. Next week (during the away game against Brighton & Hove Albion, ed.) we have to do better, we have to improve ourselves”, continues Van de Beek, who can also enjoy his debut and goal a bit. “We lost today, but of course it’s nice to play for such a club. I made my debut and hope to help the team win next time”.
