The Telegraph and Football International report that the 27-year-old attacker from Barcelona completes a modified program in the gym during the the Dutch practice session. Virgil van Dijk was also present again. “It’s going well, of course I’m very happy to be back. It took a long time, so I’m looking forward to it again,” Van Dijk told the KNVB channels after he arrived in Zeist. “Let’s make it something beautiful next week. It was physically and mentally tough to get back on the field, but luckily I’ve had three good games. Hopefully I can continue this line with Oranje. Of course I missed the Dutch, it was very difficult to watch the European Championship at home.”

The the Dutch squad will face Norway (September 1), Montenegro (September 4) and Turkey (September 7) during the upcoming international match. The final training for the away game against the Norwegians is already scheduled for Tuesday and it is still unclear whether Van Gaal will then have his full selection at his disposal. Depay also completed an adapted program in the gym at Barcelona last Monday – a day after the league match against Athletic Club. The attacker was on the line for 90 minutes on behalf of Barcelona on Sunday in the 2-1 win against Getafe, in which he scored the winning goal.
