Marten de Roon has once again made people laugh. The Atalanta midfielder opened the Europa League group stage on Thursday evening with a 2-0 win over Rakow, Poland. The Dutch international immediately ran off the field at the half-time signal and there was a reason for that, De Roon now says.
“For the people wondering why I ran off the field… here’s mine heatmap of the match,” the Dutchman writes in a post on social media. On the heatmap De Roon humorously shows that he also spent a long time on the toilet. With De Roon and Teun Koopmeiners in the starting line-up and Hans Hateboer on the bench for the entire match, Atalanta won relatively easily against Rakow. Charles De Ketelaere and Ederson scored the goals.
