Aad de Mos thinks that Xavi Simons could move to Arsenal. The PSV playmaker recently changed agents and is now accompanied by the English duo Darren Dein and Stuart Peters. According to De Mos, the two have good contacts the Gunners and could Simons’ switch be related to an impending move to the Emirates Stadium.

The future of Simons has been a topic of discussion for weeks. Paris Saint-Germain can retrieve the twenty-year-old playmaker through a clause for twelve million euros and would like to, but it is not yet clear whether Simons wants that too. Now De Mos adds a new chapter to the story. “His agent change indicates that he is searching,” the analyst begins his story in a video item from the Eindhovens Dagblad. “Maybe he’s thinking about Arsenal. His new agents have a lot of contacts there.”

According to De Mos, it is beyond dispute that PSV must do everything it can to keep Simons, who was again important for his team last Sunday by scoring the late winning goal against Fortuna Sittard (2-1). “I hope that Earnest Stewart (PSV’s technical director, ed.) will manage to keep Simons here in Eindhoven. That must be the number one priority for PSV and steps must therefore be taken quickly.”

Twenty-year-old Simons was taken over from PSG by PSV on a free transfer and the Eindhoven team will certainly not regret that. This season, with nineteen hits and twelve assists in 46 official matches for the team from Eindhoven, the the Dutch-international was a very important pawn for trainer Ruud van Nistelrooij. Since Simons is now committed to PSV for five years and only his former employer from Paris can snatch him away for twelve million euros, the renowned Transfer market his transfer value is now set at thirty million euros.
