Phil Foden to sign a new contract with Manchester City this week, reports the Athletic Monday. After lengthy negotiations, the 22-year-old left leg has agreed on a contract that will keep him with him until mid-2027 the Citizens will keep. On Sunday, Foden made his first hat-trick as a professional footballer during the Manchester Derby (6-3 win).

City had to wait a long time for an agreement with Foden. The eighteen-time international of the Three Lions had high demands for signing a long-term contract. Still, City managed to convince Foden and will sign for an additional three years at the Etihad Stadium this week. The Athletic also knows to report that another important player will stay on longer, although no name is mentioned.

Ilkay Gundogan’s contract expires after this season, while Kyle Walker is also only fixed until mid-2024.
