David Luiz and Willian aces at Arsenal for a reunion with Oscar, the latter claims Tuesday. The three Brazilian played together at Chelsea in the past, until Oscar moved to Shanghai SIPG in 2017. The offensive midfielder is in possession of an ongoing and lucrative contract with the Chinese club, but would like to return to Europe one day.

Oscar was picked up by Chelsea at Internacional in 2012 and finally transferred to Shanghai SIPG in January 2017. With a week’s salary of 450,000 euros, the 29-year-old midfielder is by far the best paid player of the Chinese league and also has a contract for four seasons. As a result, a return to Europe is currently out of the question, Oscar acknowledges to the Brazilian branch of FOX Sports. “It’s complex. It’s hard for me to leave right now. I have a contract with Shanghai SIPG, so it’s a difficult story”, he says.

Oscar is still in regular contact with his compatriots David Luiz and Willian. David Luiz made the switch from Chelsea to Arsenal last year, Willian followed this summer. “The contact is still good, we talk to each other every now and then. David Luiz and Willian have asked me to come to Arsenal,” reveals Oscar.

Oscar emphasizes that he would like to play football in Europe before he puts an end to his career. “I’d like that, but right now I’m good in China. I have a contract and I hope to serve it out,” continues the 48-time Brazilian international. “Of course Chelsea would be my first choice, because I had a wonderful time at that club. But as a child I watched soccer in Italy, because a lot of Brazilians played there. So if I were to return to Europe, I would seriously consider working in Italy”.
