Danny Rose continues his career at Watford, the club promoted to the Premier League announced on Wednesday morning. The thirty-year-old left-back, who recently left Tottenham Hotspur with a transfer-free status, signed a two-year contract at Vicarage Road after the medical examination. Rose could make his official debut on August 14, when Watford opens the season against Aston Villa.

Watford is no stranger to Rose, who made seven appearances in the 2008/09 season as a mercenary from the Hornets. The 29-time England international, active at the 2018 World Cup in Russia, played most of his career for Tottenham Hotspur, making a total of 214 appearances in the North London club’s main squad. Under Jose Mourinho, however, the full-back gradually lost his starting spot and a loan spell at Newcastle United helped last season.

As a youth player, Rose went through the youth academy of Leeds United, where he was noticed by Tottenham scouts. In 2007, the left back made the final move towards the Spurs. In between, in addition to Newcastle and Watford, Rose was also loaned to Sunderland, Peterborough United and Bristol City. Rose is Watford’s third signing for the coming season.
