With Danny Blind and son Daley nothing is known about a possible return to Ajax. Recently picked up The Telegraph out with the message that Klaas-Jan Huntelaar would have contacted the Bayern Munich defender to discuss a comeback in the Johan Cruijff ArenA. The coverage led to surprise in the Blind home.

During Saturday night’s preview of Italian football, Blind turned senior in the studio of Ziggo Sport asked about the morning newspaper report. “We were also surprised,” Blind responds. “Well, the newspaper… It would be nice if the idea was there at all to bring Daley back to Ajax, but we know zero comma zero about that. So I don’t know how this could get into the media .

Should Ajax actually report, Daley is interested in entering into the conversation as well. “He is always open to it,” says father Blind. “Daley is an Ajax player and once came back from Manchester United to finish it here. He is always open to it, although it is not an issue right now. At the moment it is still quiet around Daley and we will go the next wait weeks to see what happens.”

In the story of The Telegraph it also stated that Danny would have been in contact with the Royal Antwerp of football affairs director Marc Overmars and trainer Mark van Bommel about a transfer. There seems to be some truth to that. “That interest was already there last winter. I visited, but that had nothing to do with Daley. Of course I know Marc well and it was planned to go that way sometime.”
