Arnaut Danjuma proved his worth for Villarreal on Thursday. The wing striker had an important part in the game against Hapoel Beer Sheva with a goal, which eventually ended in 2-2. Villarreal, which played his first game under Quique Setién, was already certain of a win in Group C of the Europa League and could therefore play freely. Hapoel still has a chance of surviving in the tournament because of the point. The Israelis are third behind Lech Poznan, while Austria Wien is bottom.

Villarreal was much stronger in the first half and should have gone into halftime with a lead. The Spaniards created sufficient opportunities for this, but were not focused. The biggest chance for halftime was for Danjuma, who shot the bar from the rebound. Hapoel hardly did anything in return, but that suddenly changed after the break.

Villarreal defender Aissa Mandi unfortunately touched the ball in his own penalty area, giving the Israelis a penalty in the 48th minute. Tomer Hemed left Pepe Reina without a chance from eleven meters: 0-1. Samuel Chukwueze tied the score ten minutes later by placing the ball from sixteen meters in: 1-1.

Villarreal went on to make it 2-1 after seventy minutes via Danjuma, who was launched by a superb heel pass from Manu Trigueros. The attacker got rid of his opponent with some fortune and fired with the left in: 2-1. For Danjuma it was his second goal in the Europa League this season, after the the Dutch international also scored against Austria Wien.

In the end, the goal was not enough for the win. Hapoel determined the final score at 2-2 in the final phase via Sagiv Yehezkel, who had a free passage after an unintentional one-two with a Villarreal defender and simply tapped in: 2-2.
