In the search for offensive reinforcement, Everton ended up with Horace Danjuma, reports Bruno Alemany. According to the journalist of Cadena SER the first talks have already taken place. Danjuma must be taken over on a rental basis for six months, whereby the Toffees have an option to buy included in the contract. The six-time the Dutch international has been on the radar of the Liverpool club since the summer of 2021.

Everton is having a lousy season under Frank Lampard and is in a relegation spot in the Premier League with only fifteen points from eighteen games, which worries the club management. In the search for an offensive quality impulse – only Wolverhampton Wanderers and Nottingham Forest managed to score less often than Everton – the club initially ended up with Danny Ings. However, the Aston Villa striker is not allowed to leave, so that the arrows are once again aimed at Danjuma.

Alemany talks about ‘negotiations in progress’, with a lease deal with purchase construction appearing most likely. Everton sold striker Nathan Broadhead to Ipswich Town on Tuesday, a deal that can earn a maximum of 4.5 million euros. Another striker, Tom Cannon, is expected to be loaned out to Preston North End. It makes that the Toffees have some room in the financial household again to do something on the market this winter. It is not known what amount Villarreal is demanding for Danjuma.

Everton started the season with Dominic Calvert-Lewin as their leading forward, but his injury sensitivity is a serious concern for the club. The 25-year-old center forward has only played eight Premier League games this season, six of which as a basic player. He only managed to find the net once. Two seasons ago he scored sixteen league goals. Anthony Gordon and Demarai Gray are the most accurate players this season with only three goals. Alex Iwobi, good for five assists, must provide the supply.

With Danjuma, Everton is assured of a player with Premier League experience. The Dutchman played for Bournemouth fourteen times at the highest level in England. He failed to score or provide an assist. This season he played on behalf of Villarreal in seventeen games in all competitions, in which he was accurate six times. Danjuma had to miss part of the season due to injuries and was also not included in the World Cup selection of national coach Louis van Gaal.
