Czech police have released images of an arrest of a Feyenoord supporter. The club from Rotterdam will take on Slavia Prague in the Conference League on Thursday evening, where about three thousand Feyenoord fans will be present. Earlier this week, the Czech authorities already referred to the riots in Rotterdam last Friday, which, according to Mayor Ahmed Aboutaleb, were also attended by football supporters.

“We expect about three thousand visitors from the Netherlands, some of whom actively participated in those riots. We will deploy hundreds of agents,” the Czech police wrote on Twitter on Tuesday. Police in Prague have taken several security measures to prevent a scuffle between supporters of both clubs. “A police helicopter will be present, among other things,” reads an official statement on the police website.

“As we expect the arrival of some radical supporters of the visiting team, who have been involved in the violence in Rotterdam in recent days, the Prague police will be reinforced by colleagues from units from Brno, Pilsen and Ústí nad Labem. of the Feyenoord supporters,” the reporting continues. “As part of the preparation of the security measure, we have also communicated with the Netherlands and seven Rotterdam police officers, specialized in the problem of football violence, will also travel to Prague.”

A Feyenoord supporter was arrested by the police on the Oude Stadsplein on Wednesday evening, according to images shared on Thursday. The man threw a flaming torch at a group of tourists. One of the tourists was injured in the hand and had to be treated medically. The man has been arrested and taken to the station, where the matter is being further investigated. The case will be discussed in summary proceedings. In the worst case, the man could face up to two years in prison.
