Cyriel Dessers does not seem to be on his way to Cremonese, but to FC Copenhagen. This is apparent from photos that do the rounds showing the Nigerian striker. He is sitting in the Danish capital at the table with the coach and the technical director of Copenhagen, together with his agent Stijn Francis.

Earlier on Tuesday, it was reported that Cremonese would run away with last season’s top scorer in the Conference League. Fabrizio Romano wrote that the talks between KRC Genk and the Italian club went well and that an agreement was in line with expectations, but now the fork appears to be very different. Dessers is in Copenhagen to have a bite to eat with trainer Jess Thorup and director Peter Christiansen. The presence of agent Francis indicates that negotiations are underway.

The last news decided to gather information on social media based on the photo and found out that Genk has not yet received an official offer from Copenhagen. So it remains to be seen whether the Danish top club really wants to go ahead for Dessers, who was asked about his future and a possible switch to Serie A PhD candidate Cremonese last weekend after the 3-2 loss in the league game against Club Brugge.

“We’ll see what comes,” he told various Belgian media. “There is some interest. It is all starting to move. I am just as curious as you are about what Genk will say. The Serie A is a top competition and I dream of that. It is all a matter of waiting.” Dessers also discussed a possible return to Feyenoord, which initially let the purchase option of four million euros pass by. “I don’t know if that’s still an option. You’ll have to ask there.”
