Cristiano Ronaldo has extensively discussed his relationship with Erik ten Hag in the infamous interview with Piers Morgan. The second part of the conversation between the interviewer and Ronaldo was broadcast in England on Thursday and it turned out that Ronaldo does not like the Dutch coach of Manchester United.

Earlier it became clear that Ronaldo had said that he did not respect Ten Hag. Now the Portuguese attacker explains why he does not. “The coach didn’t respect me either. He keeps telling the media that he talked to me and that he likes me there… blah, blah, blah. That’s just for the stage, one hundred percent. He doesn’t give me the respect I deserve and I find that unacceptable. But it is what it is. That’s probably why I left during the game against Tottenham.”

The attacker refused to come in in the final phase. Earlier, Ten Hag decided not to bring Ronaldo in the last minutes during the humiliation against Manchester City (6-3). The Dutchman said not to do that out of respect for the great career of CR7. “Those are just excuses,” Ronaldo now responds. “I respect if he picks other players because he thinks it’s better for the team. Now what he said didn’t make any sense. You won’t let me play against City out of respect for what I did, but you want me to play three minutes against Tottenham? That makes no sense. He did it on purpose.”

Ten Hag suspended Ronaldo following the incident during the match against Tottenham. “I was very, very, very disappointed in Manchester United,” said the Portuguese. “To be honest I never had a problem with anyone at the club and now suddenly I was suspended for three days? That felt like too much. My son also asked if I didn’t have to go to the game and when I said no, I had to he laughed. He wondered how they could suspend me as the best player in the world.”
