Manchester City have won the away game against Leeds United. Josep Guardiola’s team took the lead after fifteen minutes via a header by Rodri, after which Nathan Aké doubled the lead in the second half. Gabriel Jesus scored a third goal fifteen minutes before the end, after which City were able to play out the game comfortably and eventually lead to 0-4. Taking through the win the Citizens Liverpool’s lead again and restore the lead of one point over the rival. This means that the tension in the title race in the Premier League with four rounds left on the program is still to be cut.
Aké was allowed to start in the left back position with the visitors, while Pascal Struijk could be found in the center of the defense of Leeds. The first achievement came from the home team. João Cancelo took the ball on a corner from City but slipped, allowing Rodrigo to take the ball and run towards the goal. Raphinha sprinted along with the Spaniard, who, however, took far too long to continue and eventually lost the ball to Ilkay Gundogan. On the other hand, City did manage to score. A free kick by Phil Foden could be headed in by a free-running Rodri.

After half an hour, Junior Firpo was able to lash out after Cancelo headed a cross from Luke Ayling into the feet. However, the Spaniard aimed over Ederson’s goal. Jesus had a shooting opportunity for a few minutes after Cancelo’s split pass, but only produced a roller towards Illan Meslier. On the stroke of half-time, Raheem Sterling was given another chance after Ayling clumsily lost the ball to his opponent, but the wing attacker ran into the sliding Struijk.

Ten minutes after the break, Aké scored City’s second goal. A corner from Foden was headed back to the center of the Leeds penalty area by Rúben Dias, where Aké was ready to work the ball behind Meslier. The Dutch defender had to drop out injured shortly afterwards. His replacement Oleksandr Zinchenko was able to hit the ball cold on the field after Gundogan’s shot was blocked, but the Ukrainian shot over. Fifteen minutes before the end, Jesus put an end to all doubt on Elland Road by finishing cool after a pass from Foden, eye to eye with Meslier. Cancelo ran into Meslier just before time, while Dias on the other side prevented a goal from Daniel James by heading the ball away from the line. The final chord was provided by substitute Fernandinho, who found the corner with a long shot.
