Bayern Munich has set its sights on Adrien Rabiot, writes Sports Picture. The midfielder has an expiring contract with Juventus, so he can be picked up for free the record master. Erik ten Hag’s Manchester United previously threw a line at the Frenchman’s entourage for that reason. Julián Álvarez, who became redundant at Manchester City, is also on Thomas Tuchel’s wish list.

It is clear that they are going to take a different tack at Bayern after a historically bad season. The record champion threatens to lose the national title for the first time in ten years, as a two-point deficit has to be made up against Borussia Dortmund on the last matchday. Tuchel has set two priorities for the upcoming transfer window: a number 6 to stabilize the midfield and a striker.

Rabiot is in the picture for the former position. The Frenchman has Juve about an expiring contract. His agent and mother want more salary for the midfielder. Rabiot is currently reportedly earning around seven million euros a year. Bayern also threw a line at the Frenchman in 2019, but missed out at the time. Edson Álvarez is no longer a target. Other candidates are Mateo Kovacic (Chelsea) and Declan Rice (West Ham United).

Julian Álvarez is in the picture to fill in the striker position. The Argentinian is having an absolute dream year. He became world champion in mid-December and won the Premier League with Manchester City. Of the Citizens he is competing for two more prizes this season, as Pep Guardiola’s team is still active in the FA Cup (final against Manchester United) and the Champions League (final against Internazionale). Álvarez has played 47 games so far, in which he scored 17 times and gave 5 assists.
