Juventus credited another late victory on Saturday. Three days after the 0-1 victory over Cremonese, with Arek Milik as the match winner in stoppage time, La Vecchia Signora also winning 1-0 against Udinese. Right back Danilo was Juventus’ hero in the 86th minute. A successful general for the squatter against leader Napoli next week. The difference is only four points, although the list leader will only play against Sampdoria on Sunday.

At Juventus, World Cup visitors Ángel Di María and Adrien Rabiot returned to the starting line-up. Milik, who was still accurate on Wednesday, was replaced in the front by Moise Kean. Trainer Massimiliano Allegri has a fairly full infirmary: Dusan Vlahovic, Paul Pogba, Juan Cuadrado, Bremer and captain Leonardo Bonucci are not available for the time being. After a minute of applause for Gianluca Vialli, who died on Friday, who won the Champions League with Juventus in 1996, both teams started at the Juventus Stadium.

Udinese was somewhat surprisingly the parent in the early stages. Beto seemed to score after almost twenty minutes with a header, but Wojciech Szczesny made a nice save for the home club. Only a minute later the same thing happened on the other side: Marco Silvestri prevented the header Daniele Rugani from scoring with a cat-like reflex. Udinese had almost sixty percent possession in the first half, although that did not lead to the lead. Juventus waited patiently and lurked on the counter.

In the initial phase after the break, Juventus issued warnings with a volley from Kean that just flew over the goal and a bang from Filip Kostic to which the alert Silvestri had an answer. The Udinese goalkeeper was then quick to prevent Manuel Locatelli from scoring. Allegri intervened after an hour and took the tired Di María to the side. Milik was allowed to show it in the last half hour. Juventus emphatically went on the hunt for the much desired 1-0, although the team lacked momentum in the front. Nevertheless, the goal came with four minutes left on the clock.

Subbed-in Federico Chiesa set up the attack himself and was then custom served by fellow substitute Leandro Paredes. Chiesa took the ball beautifully and immediately played Danilo who had come along, who was able to hit hard in front of an empty goal: 1-0. The joy and relief was logically very great with everything and everyone at Juventus. The strong substitute Chiesa seemed to take care of the 2-0 himself in the final minute, but at the last minute Jaka Bijol saved Udinese. Juventus survived the four minutes of injury time and are therefore currently number two in Serie A.
