Chelsea has officially reported in Eindhoven for Noni Madueke. The Londoners open with a bid of thirty million euros for the twenty-year-old right winger of PSV, it reports Eindhovens Dagblad. The Blues are thus far removed from the asking price, which, according to the same newspaper, is 45 million euros including bonuses. Nevertheless, PSV is in talks with Chelsea about a transition.

The negotiations between PSV and Chelsea have been going on for a few days, according to the regional newspaper. The people of Eindhoven would rather not lose Madueke, but are not in the most rosy financial position. With a ‘top bid’, a transfer from Madueke abroad is therefore negotiable. Chelsea will still have to increase the offer to reach an agreement with PSV.

Ruud van Nistelrooij previously had to watch how Cody Gakpo was sold to Liverpool for about fifty million euros and said at the press conference on Friday that he also feared Madueke. “I know about the interest in Noni,” said the PSV trainer at the press conference in the run-up to Sunday’s away match at Fortuna Sittard. “I would rather not see him leave, but I don’t decide that. The fact that there is a lot of interest in him is of course due to quality and his performance.”

Chelsea is in a deep sporting crisis and is in a very disappointing tenth place in the Premier League after Thursday’s 2-1 defeat at Fulham. The Blues have now informed PSV of their interest in Madueke. “I have previously called that no one is allowed to leave,” said Van Nistelrooij. “I still think so and the situation is also worrying, but situations can arise where a club and player want something different.” For now, the trainer is counting on Madueke. “Without a counter-message, he is there against Fortuna.”
